The kids are back from their holiday in Spain and even though I am soooo happy to see them again after 2 weeks, they have thrown my crafting schedule (and every other schedule) out the window! There was also the yearly “Oath Monday” here in Ulm where, in the tradition of the constitution of the Reich Town (‘Great Proclamation of Oath’) of 1397, the Mayor of the City of Ulm appears on the balcony of the Schwörhaus (Oath House) on the last but one Monday in July, and swears an oath to uphold the town constitution!
The days before and after that is filled with parties, bands and my favourite the “Nabada”! Floating down the Danube in any boat or object you can get your hands on, while throwing water at your neighbouring boats! We usually do it every year but this year the kids didn’t want to get wet in the 16C deg water so we skipped it but had fun watching anyway…and the kids got soaking wet in the end! Heres some pics to give you an idea of the madness! There were many bands playing on the boats floating down the river too!
But as my creative urges were just screaming to get out, I made a really quick card just with die cuts I had previously cut from paper I had painted with distress paints and brushos. This is the first time I think I have made a card only with die cuts!
I pasted my Spellbinders flowers and butterflies and Memory Box Happy Birthday sentiment on a glossy gold card stock and voila! Heres a close up so you can see the colours better.
I actually pre-colour many sheets of watercolour card stock with my brushos and lately with distress paints too. I even use cards where the stamping was “spoilt”and colour over them cause once you cut them into your shapes, you only see the wonderful blending of colours!
Hope you liked it!
I entered this card in:
Seize the Birthday – Bold and Bright challenge. Its my 2nd entry as I love their theme!
AAA Cards – One stash favourite challenge. Its my Brushos! I think if you look into my blog, the majority of my cards have brushos on them in some form or other! I hope this card shows the variety of colours I can get from them, especially on the sentiment die cut!
Virginia’s View Challenge – All about colours I hope my card meet the criterias. I did layer many colours using different mediums on my die cuts.
