More Xmas cards!

All I can think about at the moment is getting my Christmas cards done in time to be sold at my first public sale! I do think that I will have to start mass producing some designs soon, but not yet! This one looks simple but it was certainly not easy to make. Only because I chose the harder way to make it, as I didn’t see the easier way to do it till I was struggling to get it done, 3h later!

I started out by cutting the ring from a failed design made by my Gelli plate, with a Simon Says Stamp die cut. Unfortunately I had forgotten to add a double sided adhesive before cutting it so I had to cut another one and paste it on, finicky work! I cut the sentiment from the Stamplorations Cutplorations range, from the same failed Gelli print. I recut the sentiment from the same colour card stock and adhered the coloured one on top of the other.

I recut the ring from the actual card which left me a space to create my shaker part. To make the shaker part, I thought I could just cut out the ring shape from the plastic I was going to use as a shaker envelope, but; 1.the die cut wouldn’t cut the plastic so I had to fussy cut it 2. I couldn’t get the adhesive to stay on the plastic rings… Anyway I just realised its even too complicated to explain, I wonder now how I thought I was going to manage to do it! In the end I ended up just making a square shaker pouch which I covered up behind with another piece of card stock.

I embossed my card with a Sizzix folder and put everything together. The little dots come from the inside of the rings.

I hope you understood the process as I realise I didn’t explain it so well! Next time I’ll have to add my process in pics.

I’m playing along with:

Just add Ink – I just went with the middle circle  just add ink.jpeg

Sparkle N SprinkleCreative challenge – Anything Goes: use loose glitter, embossing powder, and/or flocking

Christmas card challenges – There was an optional Photo inspiration but I chose not to follow it.

Crafting musketeers – Christmas Wishes
