Is it no line colouring if I draw a line around it after I’m finished? Ok for all those who follow my blog who don’t make cards and have no idea what I’m talking about, just skip to the nice pictures below! 😉 For those who do make cards and want to know what no line colouring is, its just a term thats used for a technique when you stamp an image with such soft colours, that the lines around and within your image disappears as you colour over it. This technique is used to create a softer more natural looking image. Heres a link to Kristina Werner’s blog where you can find different techniques of no line colouring. Or just look at my last few posts. This technique can be done with copics, colour pencils, distress inks, watercolour…
Today’s card was done with my Zig Clean color real brushes to simply colour my Hero Arts color layering Hibiscus. (Yes another flower card to add to my #2017flowercards series!) Except there was no layering involved. I just stamped/masked/stamped the largest hibiscus stamp in a soft pink using Momento’s Angel pink, brushed some strokes of Zig 025 light pink in the middle and blended it with my water pen. I then stamped the stigma in the hibiscus and went over it with my purple Sakura gelly roll pen to give it some sparkle but you can’t really see it in the photo. I then decided to outline the hibiscus with the same Zig brush. So is it still called no line colouring? 😉
The leaves were stamped using Momento “New Sprout” and I also doodled some darker green lines with my Zigs. I went over the leaves with my Spectrum noir clear pen to give it some shine, but you can’t see that either! 😦
I fussy cut the whole arrangement (which I forgot to say was water coloured on Clairefontaine Paint On 250g paper) and adhered it with Uhu glu stick on an embossed card stock, which was cut with My Favourite Thing’s scalloped rectangle from their Blueprint 20 set. The embossed card was given to me by my friend Monika (thanks again dear!) so I don’t know what the brand of the embossing folder is.
The sentiment from Stamplorations was first stamped with Versamark, on a strip of the same card stock, and heat embossed using Wow white embossing powder. I then added it over the embossed panel, stuck two sequins and the card was finished!
Hope you like the card and thanks so much for taking the time to leave me such kind comments, they really make my day!
This card wants to play at:
CAS Watercolour Card – my second entry
A blog names Hero – also my 2nd entry to their Anything Goes challenge
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – Spring Color inspiration
Addicted to CAS – Smile – Not really sure if my card qualifies as CAS enough…
Craft Stamper Magazine – Take it make it Anything Goes challenge
The colors on this are so vibrant and happy! Love your no line coloring (& adding lines at the end seems totally acceptable to me, but I’m not really a technique police kind of person)! 😉 I love the overall look and love that you added a little sparkle with the leaves! It’s always difficult to capture that kind of subtle sparkle, isn’t it?!
Thank you for joining us for our Anything Goes challenge over at A Blog Named Hero!
