And so the adventure begins…

Yes its Graduation time and even though my kids are still a few years away from graduating from high school, some of my friends have their children graduating this weekend. As our kids attend the International school here, those graduating, even the Germans, will probably be leaving Ulm. They will go to a university somewhere around the world and most of them will live on their own for the first time. And so the adventure begins…

I made this card for a friend’s son, who will leave for Texas to further his studies. I thought the Western style typeface stamp from Tim Holtz’s was just fitting, as I have memories of oil fields, cowboys in rodeos and a certain barb wire museum, when I was in Texas 2 years ago!

I also love the quotes from Stampers Anonymous “Way With Words”, which I first stamped in Versamark before I heat embossed with Wow embossing powder on a chocolate coloured card panel.  This is probably my favourite quotes stamp, its so meaningful and I hope he will find it too.

I then cut a green sparkly border from some designer paper and glued both the border and the text panel onto a black card. So it was quite a fast card to make.

I hope you liked it and thanks for stopping by!

  2. Hi there, Gwendolyn ~
I really love your card. The colours are so vibrant and the design is amazing. Unfortunately your entry is not CAS as per the requirements of this challenge, but I hope to see you play along next time. Thanks for joining us at ATCAS!
