Mixed media CAS card

The theme over at CAS Mix Up card challenge this month is to use Embossing pastes or gels and I have been thinking all month about how to make a card with it and still have it clean and simple.

And today it suddenly hit me… obviously before we had to leave for a day trip to Munich. But I managed to finish the card just before we left and as I used the colours from The Paper Players challenge, I wanted to post my card there too and it was ending in afew hours, so I’m writing this post in the car!

To make the card I first sponged through a stencil from Memory Box with Stampin Up’s Tempting Turquoise.  I then laid the beautiful flower stencil from Stamplorations down over the sponged area and added gold embossing paste through it. I drew in the leaves with my Zigs Clean color real brush.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine and the card was finished! Oh I added a clear sequin to one of the petals cause I touched it before it was dry and it left an awful mark!

So I hope you like my mixed media but still CAS card.  Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think!

  3. Wow, Gwendolyn, I have never worked with embossing pastes before (I just ordered my first set!) but this gold is really beautiful. And you drew on the leaves! Puts my stick figures to shame! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players this week just in the nick of time! Crystal, DT

  4. So pretty, Gwendolyn. I love how you created multiple layers with the use of the stencils and the embossing paste and yet the card still has such clean lines. So glad you joined us at the Paper Players this week
