I attended a friend’s wedding this weekend and it is so nice to have 1.Young enough friends & 2. Friends who still believe in marriage! ( I guess those 2 go together…). During the marriage we were asked to write notes they would read 1 year later and I was struggling to try and write some words of wisdom that would help them have a better marriage. Most of what I could think of would have been advice too late; like “if you love his faults too then he’s the one for you…” or “marry your best friend…”. General advice like “Don’t go to bed angry” didn’t seem genuine as I’ve gone to bed angry a hundred times and got up feeling none the worse. 😉 Or, “If he loves you, everything else can be forgiven… like, are you kidding! So in the end I just wished them a marriage full of love, laughter… and lots of patience!! 🙂
I made 2 cards for them, one from me and one for a friend who was invited to the same wedding. The one above was done in colours she loves and I had a lot of pleasure colouring those beautiful The Ton stamps again with my Zigs. I first stamped them in Versamark and heat embossed the Wow embossing powders I sprinkled on top. The sentiment comes from Justrite “Wedding wishes vintage” collection.
I die cut the centre with a Spellbinders die and layered it so it stood out.
I’m entering this card at:
The Ton challenge – This will be my 2nd entry and just realised I made the same layout!
Inkspirational Photo Inkspiration challenge
Addicted to Stamps & More – Make your mark
Always playing with paper – Keyword challenge. I went with flowers and watercolour.
Time out Challenges – without the option of one layer since I added a few layers underneath my die cut oval centre piece.
The next card was made by first adding a pearl embossing paste through the Altenew “Halftone stencil” and letting it dry. I then created the coloured background by sprinkling my Brusho paint powders on the card and spritzing it with water
I then used a heart die from XCut to cut out the beautiful heart, adhered it on the card and then added the die cut poenies from Altenew, which I had first stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Wow embossing powder.
I didn’t really have a suitable wedding sentiment to add on the top so I hand write “Together forever” with a gold pen.
This is the first time I stamped on Vellum and I must say I love the results!
Thanks for stopping by and I would really appreciate it if you let me know what you thought!
This card is playing at:

Both very pretty cards with the watercoloring on one and vellum on the other. The Brushos are a nice effect through the vellum, and I’m envious of your beautiful handwriting. I’m so glad you shared in our Wedding Challenge at Double D!
