“The time has come, for closing books and long last looks must end.. how do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume…” Who remembers that movie and that amazing song! I’m listening to it now and it still does something to me…
Yes its the last week of school and as an International school, there are always teachers and students leaving to other schools in other countries. So its time to make farewell cards for teachers and friends. Today I’m going to show two cards I made for teachers.
The first one is for a friend’s grade 3 teacher so I tried to make a cute critter card. I think this must only be the 2nd time I’ve made one of those in my short life as a card maker as I don’t think I have a single cute bone in my body! I love when others do it though so I’m giving myself a new challenge to learn how to make cute cards!
I used a light card from Hero Arts and first created the sky with Distress inks and sprayed some water on on it to create the clouds. I then tried to colour in the sun but obviously I should have done it before I coloured the sky…next time…, so I had to die cut a scallop to cover up my mistake! 🙂
I used the mice stamp from Penny Black’s “Hugs” set and stamped it in 3 different colours with Versafine inks and coloured it in with my Zigs. I finished by stamping the sentiment from Hero Arts “Thank You messages” also with Versafine.

My next card is another first time card, as I’ve never made a “food” card before. I actually think these Macaron stamps from Avery Elle, are the only food stamps I have! For a foodie like me, its quite shocking! 😉 This was a relatively easy and fun card to make. I stamped the macarons with Altenew inks, then coloured in the filling with my Zigs, adding Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen in the middle to make it look more delicious! I fussy cut the orange macaron and stuck it on the top. I then stamped the border stamp, which was a very old yet NBUS!
Don’t they look yummy? I was craving for macarons after I made the card! The sentiment which was stamped in Versafine ink also comes from the same stamp set.
This card is going to my kids’ French teacher and i hope she’ll like it. Did YOU like my cards? Let me know if I should continue with cute cards. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Gwendolyn, your Macaron look so sweet that I got Lindt & Sprüngli in mind, a chocolate company which is producing delicious Macarons. So your card is simply “delicious” ;-).
Thank you very much for joining us at the Stempelgarten Challenge.
Hugs and good luck
