Blogger Recognition Award

Its 5h30 in the morning again and this time I was kept awake by my hunger pangs. Following my fever last week I was hit with diarrhea, so I guess I finally got the dreaded stomach flu. I’m scheduling this post for tomorrow as I have one coming out later today so I hope by then it will be better… either that or in a hospital being given a transfusion! Lol! I’ve been on a diet of bananas & clear chicken soup for the last 3 days, but as I can’t  keep anything in despite my meds, I now feel like those activists/prisoners on a hunger strike. Waiting for that certain clarity to hit that allows you to think you can do anything, solve any world problems and love everyone…

At the moment though, I’m grumpy all the time and all my body wants to do is sleep. But with 3 kids, 2 dogs and a hubby away on a business trip I don’t have that luxury. Luckily, my dear Ines has taken over some of the cooking (at 12 she has already mastered certain dishes to keep the boys happy). And the boys take the dogs out, usually to the local supermarket so they can get sweets and stuff I don’t normally buy!

3 goods things have come out of this awful week though. I finished reading 2 books, lost 2 kg and caught up with my blogging! Todays’s post is actually about an award I received from a fellow blogger, its called the Blogger Recognition Award. The Blogger Recognition Award is an online award given to bloggers by other bloggers. It was created to let the readers learn a little bit more about the bloggers who they enjoy following – in this case, me. It also gives readers insight as to why or how I started blogging. The other half of the award is providing some advice I have to other bloggers.

As my blog is only a year old, I was so surprised when one of my followers, Rose from My Whimsical Fancy, informed me that she had thought of me for this. Thank you Rose, I am so touched that you like reading my posts enough to nominate me for this award!  I do enjoy reading your posts too!

There are certain obligations attached with getting this award though and they are:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you
  2. Write a post to show your award
  3. Give a brief summary of how your blog started and give 2 pieces of blogging advice
  4. Nominate up to 15 bloggers for this award
  5. Comment on each blog to let them know you nominated them and provide a link to your post announcing their award nomination

So 1 and 2 is done and I’ll go on to 3. When I came over to Germany 4 years ago, a few of my friends in France suggested I start a blog to write about my move here and settling into a new country. I didn’t do it for 2 reasons; being my 3rd move already, it wasn’t such a big deal for me and I didn’t have time to just sit and write for hours! I had new people to meet, places to visit, things to do! Then I started card making a year ago and I started a blog as a way to share my cards in challenges as I love being challenged! My posts somehow evolved into more than just card making talk as I became less self conscious and just wrote they way I thought, which is also my 2 pence worth of advice to fellow bloggers. Forget about followers or sounding stupid, just write about what you love doing … and try editing if you’re long winded like me! Lol!

To no. 4. Here are my nominations, I hope they don’t mind:

Handmade cards by Archana – Because she introduced me to the card making world, as I had no clue to what a stamp or die was… and her cards are awesome!

My Piece of Craft – Because she taught me everything I know about blogging, instagram-ming and taking pics… and I love reading her posts about her crafting too!

Nathalie Martin – As a wannabe writer…when I was 12… I love reading about how a book comes together.. and she’s also my amazing yoga teacher!

My Messy Beautiful Life – She writes about healthy food alternatives, which is great as I’m gluten and lactose intolerant, then suddenly there will be a very personal post about painful periods in her life. She is one tough courageous lady!

Paperpuff – I absolutely adore her sense of humour

Brushpark watercolours – A really amazing artist, I love seeing all the eery houses he paints!

Jill Millward artwork – Another really amazing artist, I love watching the progression in her art pieces.

I hope you’ll go visit their blogs and thanks for bearing with this long post! Latest update, I haven’t been to the loo since I last ate or had tummy cramps, so I think the worst is over! Hurrah!

Have a really great day!
