New Design Team Member – Creative with Stamps

I’m thrilled to announce that I am now part of the design team for the Creative with Stamps challenge blog! I was surprised and honoured when my new blogger friend, Monika, asked me to join the design team of the monthly challenge blog she started a year ago with her friend Lilian.  Even though they are a “young” challenge blog, they get many entries each month so I am very excited to be part of their Design team! I hope you’ll hop over and join in the fun too. This month’s theme is “Boys to Men” so you just have to make a card for boys or men, to join in the fun over at Creative with Stamps!

For my first post with them, I wanted to be very creative with my new stamps I just received from Craftin’ Desert Divas called Adventure Awaits. I’m in my slider craze at the moment, as is always the case when I learn something new… so I decided to make a galaxy slider card. But first I had to learn how to make a galaxy background! You saw my attempts in Sunday’s post here and I will make a separate post this week, with a video, to show you how I did it. I also made a video of this card which you can see at the end of my post.

I started by making the “planet” base using silver and white embossing paste mixed together. Any structure paste will do too. Just slather it on and I used my fingers to create the “craters” by lightly dabbing the surface. I left it aside to dry and started colouring the astronaut and space ship with my Zigs clean color real brushes before fussy cutting them.

I created the slider circle using My Favourite Things die-namics Circle Spinner channels dies, the set comes in three sizes and I used the middle size in this card. To create the slider, I just stuck 2 one cent coins together with thick double sided foam tape and placed them in between the slider channels. You can see it in detail in my video below.

I stamped the sentiments from the same set with Color Box Frost white and heat embossed them with Wow embossing powder.

So I hope you liked my card and that you’ll go over to the Creative with Stamps challenge blog and leave my new team mates some love! To play along, you just have to make a card with the theme “Boys to Men”.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think of my first galaxy card!

  3. Congratulations on the Design Team! I love the galaxy background and the slider is super fun. I have never made a slider card before – I think I am a bit intimidated by it as I am not so good with fiddly things. I am very tempted to give it a go though!
