Creative with Stamps – Reindeer

Hi all. Theres a new challenge over at Creative with Stamps and for the next month, the theme is Reindeer! So come join us with any of your creation featuring reindeers and some stamping and you could win 3 digital stamps from our sponsor Pattie’s Creations!

Pattie's Creations

I used one of Pattie’s digi images called Reindeer in Snow to make my card today but  I transformed it into a cut file using my Silhouette Studio app! I love messing about in my Studio app to transform images into cut files. Strange isn’t it that I can love crafting and painting, and creating with technology at the same time.

Today’s image took some time to transform as I had to separate the reindeers from the background but I do it by modifying the editing points in each image. Once that was done I cut the files using my Silhouette Portrait cutting machine. I coloured the background using my distress oxide inks, added white splatters with acrylic paint and left it to dry. I added glass glitters using Serviette varnish and glue as this helps to stiffen the paper too.

I stamped the sentiment from Joy Crafts with Versafine ink and assembled my card using Scor Tape. I then adhered the whole card onto a lilac card base so that it could stand on its own. I really had fun creating this card for the challenge and I look forward to seeing your creations over at Creative with Stamps!

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to know what you thought about my card!

  1. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful winter art work with us at the Watercooler Wednesday Anything Goes challenge this week. Your winter scene looks magical. And the deer look so peaceful grazing in the snow. Thanks for all the details on how you designed it.

  2. Wow, Gwendolyn, reading the story behind the card helps one understand the complexity much better. Love this shadow-box effect and the wonderful colours. Those glittery deer and the glitter added to the sky, snow and trees give a real wintry feel to the scene. This card should be a keepsake for whoever is lucky enough to receive it. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
