Sisterhood of Crafters – All About Christmas!

We have a new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog and this fortnight’s Agata is our host and she chose the them “It’s all about Christmas”, so join in with any Christmas themed card by the 24th of December.

I have to say that this Christmas season is unusually hectic for me as I participated in my first Christmas market here, luckily a very small one, but I made 60 shadow box cards for it in the 2 weeks before the sale! We are also moving houses in the 1st week of January and I’m in the middle of boxes boxes and boxes… and not all are under the Xmas tree!

Luckily I still have time for my cards but they have to be relatively quick and easy to make! So for today’s card, I just stamped this beautiful Poinsettia by Penny Black Stamps with Stampin’ Up ink mainly on the edges and in the centre and left some parts of the flower without ink. I then heat embossed it with transparent Wow embossing powder. I then coloured the background green with my Zig clean color real brush. This panel was cut with My Favorite Things rectangle scallop die cut.

The die cut sentiment comes from Stamplorations and I cut it from red card stock and also a beige one to give it some dimension. I then adhered the whole panel onto a green card base.

Well I hope you liked my simple card and that you’ll hop along to the Calling All Sistahs challenge blog and leave my other Sistahs some love too and join in the fun! You will have until Sunday, December 24th to enter. Winner’s will be announced on Tuesday, December 26th.

  2. Once again you have created something with a totally original twist and I love that about your work! I like how this is soft and almost fluid-looking. It is soothing and vibrant at the same time. Thanks so much for your continued support of our Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenges (I always look forward to your entries) and best wishes to you as you enjoy….and survive the move and the holiday season!

  3. Gorgeous poinsettia, Gwendolyn! You only inked on the edges and in the center, so there’s some white part left, and that’s a great effect. The clear embossing gives a shine to the flower. It must look more beautiful in real life! The red die-cut sentiment is a perfect match to the image.

  7. Your cards are always inspiring me to be different. I love that you left the saturation on the stamp uneven. It really adds to the beauty of the beautiful flower! Lovely card!!
