Addicted to Stamps and More – Holiday

addicted to stamps

Hi all! Its time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More and this week’s theme is Holiday! So show us your creations with any holiday theme. It could be the seasonal holidays or just something from a holiday you took.

I decided to go for an Easter theme especially since I just purchased some Bunny stamps from Gerda Steiner Designs. I am in love with her cute stamps! I also decided to try out my new Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers. I bought them after standing an hour and half at my local (and only) art store here, trying out the Copics and wondering which 12 markers I could buy for under 100 euros. I left with none, and came home and ordered 48 Spectrum Noirs from Crafters Companion for under 100euros! I read that they were just as good as the Copics and even though I’m not very good at colouring with them yet, as you can see above, I love using them!

While I was colouring with them I really felt like a kid again in Kindergarden playing with my markers! I think my Easter eggs look like a kid coloured them too! LoL! The only problem with the markers is that I don’t have all the colours! I bought them in pre-sets of 12 and thought they would come with coordinating colours and while there are 2 -3 colours which can be used together, the rest are kind of random. Anyway I plan on watching more Youtube videos to see the best ways to blend with them.

The Easter egg stencil from Echo Park was coloured with distress inks with a stencil brush when I wanted to add multi colours or just with the Ranger sponge applicators when it was just a single colour. The matted cards were diecut with Stamplorations Crazy double running stitched dies.

Well I hope you liked my card and that you’ll pop over to the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge blog and leave some love for my fellow team mates too. Hope to see your card in the link up!

Thanks for stopping by and your comments make my day!

  2. Your bespectacled bunny, nestled in the Easter eggs, is absolutely adorable! And your colouring is impressive! I have a few copics but, like you, find the price to be well beyond my budget. I found a ‘new’ crafting goods supplier here in Canada and ordered a variety of SN illustrator markers from her (amongst other things…like a couple of Catherine Pooler inks). Excited to give them a try.
