I purchased these gorgeous 3D dies not so long ago and once I received them, I took them out and diecut them straight away! But once I saw how many pieces there were, they just sat on my side desk for quite a few weeks…until I finally had the time today to put them all together. I found a system to work with them that made it all really easy and fun so I wanted to share it with you.
I had them all in a mixed pile so I decided to put them back in their negative space, it was like playing with a jigsaw puzzle, so fun! It helped that I numbered all the different dies on the package image and also on my diecut paper so I knew which one went where. I taped the back of each row, as you can see, with washi tape, so the piece would stay put when I coloured them.
I then water-coloured them with the help of the colouring guide, to know which ones to add a softer wash. This felt like colouring with numbers :)). Once the watercolour paints were dry, I took them out and adhered them together according to the numbers. As the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp was Sparkle and Shine, I used a shiny lacquer to glue them together AND added Wow embossing glitter while the lacquer was still wet.
You can see the glitter but unfortunately you can’t see the shine of the lacquer. Well I hope you liked the card. Its a short post today as we have a problem with our internet at home so I’m using my phone’s mobile data…and my kids need it too to do their homework… so thanks for stopping by and I’d love to hear from you!
Have a great day!
