I took another card making technique class at the Altenew Academy called “All About Layering” and I learnt the best way to stamp my layered stamps. I don’t have many as I prefer just stamping the outline and water-colouring, but the ones I have are not the easiest to stamp together, so this class was really useful.
I used the Vintage Flowers set which comprises of at least 40 different stamps of roses and leaves, and I think I used 35 of those stamps to make this card! I also wanted to add a little more interest to the roses by mixing the colours I stamped with, directly on the stamp, and spritzing water on the stamps after inking them up so that I would get a softer two toned more natural water-coloured look. I made a video to show you how I did it which is at the end of my post.
In this close up pic above, you can see that I mixed blues and purples in each layer of stamping for the roses. I think they look kinda dreamy don’t you? To finish, I mounted the My Favorite Things scallop frame onto foam tape and added a piece of acetate on the top, after I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Hero Arts with Stazon on the acetate.
As promised the video of the making of, and I hope you enjoy it. There is still no voice over as my voice hasn’t truly come back from its vacation while I was sick. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Beautiful Gwendolyn, like you I have hardly used my layered stamp from Altenew as I prefer to stamp and colour so maybe I should take that class as well as I did try stamping them and wasn’t very happy with the result but your flowers look stunning particularly that blue and mauve combined. A beautiful wild garden. Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and we hope to see you there again soon. Aileen DesignTeam

So beautiful, Gwendolyn! Love how you chose multiple colors for flowers and I really love the water-spritz effect on images. The scalloped frame is a perfect completion to the card. Thank you for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
