Hi all, I’m here with the first of my double posts today, to invite you to play along with us at Addicted to Stamps and More, where we have a beautiful photo inspiration of succulents. Feel free to join in with whatever inspires you in this picture, be it the plants themselves or the colours or the shapes and I look forward to see what you come up with.
Before I go onto my card I have to apologise for the lack of variety in my photos today as I gave away the card to my daughter’s classmate for his birthday, before I had the chance to take more pics, but I hope the quality of the card is enough 😉 .
Onto my card. I recently purchased some stamps from Penny Black called “Happy Together” that had a row of succulents on it and I was so excited to use them for the first time for this challenge. I stamped them with Momento’s Tuxedo black ink and started colouring them in with my Zig clean color real brushes. I even managed to add some detail on the first cactus from your left by adding darker vertical lines to create a multifaceted look to the cactus. I added some shading under and around the pots and splattered lots of black paint on the card. To finish, I stamped the sentiment from Altenew.
Fun facts about Cactus’s. Did you know the spines on them are actually highly evolved leaves and they protect the plant by preventing them from being eaten by animals & by providing shade to the plant. So the next time your clothes get ripped and a bit of cloth stays on, know that you are doing your bit to provide them shade… 😆
Well I hope you were inspired by my card and that you’ll join in our challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. Do pop over to see the gorgeous creations my teammates have created just for your viewing pleasure and leave them some love too.
Thanks for stopping by and see you in my next post… in a few hours… where I’ll show you how to create seaweed like forms with rubber bands!
