AECP – Stamp Layering Majestic Blooms

Second day of my personal challenge to finish the Altenew Educator Certification program by the end of August and today’s card show’s off what I learnt during the “Stamp Layering 2” course, featuring the gorgeous Majestic Bloom stamp from Altenew. This online course is great as it goes through many of the stamp layering sets Altenew has and shows the best way to stamp them.

I took 5h to make this card! No it didn’t take that long to stamp everything, I just couldn’t decide on the colour combinations or the layout. Some days I have an idea and after 1h the whole card is done, and some days, like today, I have no idea what I’m doing! I have to say though, that due to the tips given during the course, every single stamped flower was perfectly aligned! And after stamping the flower 9 times in multiple colour combinations, I think I could do it with my eyes closed now!

In the end I decided to use Altenew mango smoothie, Ranger’s Abandoned coral distress ink and a touch of my Zig clean color real brushes for the darker accents on the flower. For the leaves, I used Altenew’s Ocean Waves, Dusk and Desert Night. A tip I discovered, after stamping so many times: To get a good clean stamped image, it helps to hold down the stamp firmly for 10 seconds at least, this gives the ink the chance to spread into each other and avoid blotches.  The sentiment comes from the Perennial Beauty set from Altenew too.

I mounted the panel onto an orange card base, offsetting it a little to balance the colours. To finish I added 3 gemstones from The paper Studio but in the photo it makes my flower look really creepy, like a tiny alien is peeping out from under the petals…

Well I hope you like my card and are having a good start to the week. I am pretty happy as I managed to start my detox diet and swim 1km in the lake yesterday AND make cards, and today was the same, just hope I can continue till the end of August too!

  1. Such a beautiful execution of layering this Majestic flower! I have used this one only three times and it was getting better but I stopped. Your post has reminded me it takes time and practice! Thank you for your recommendation for the AECP course since I have not done it yet. Your results show the time is well worth it! Quite stunning and loved your gorgeous color choices!!!

  2. Hi Gwendolyn, the thought that you put into this card has made it turn out absolutely brilliantly! I really loooove the movement in the petals of the flower, it brings the card to life.
