Hi all! Its the 2nd Wednesday of the month so another challenge begins over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and our sistah Diane has chosen the theme “Cozy Plaids”, so you have until Sunday 23rd September to share any creations with plaids on them!
I almost opted out of this challenge as I didn’t have any plaid images, but then I decided to just paint in a plaid using my watercolours. I was too lazy to draw in lines beforehand so they are a little wonky, but I know I’ve come a long way since I started water-colouring a year ago as I can now paint an (almost) straight line! LoL! While my watercolour plaid was drying, I chose the two tabby cats from Clearly Besotted’s “Nom Nom Kitties” set as they would create a cosy image as they sit sharing their Ramen on the plaid, and coloured them with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers.
It took awhile to look for a sentiment for this card as I wanted a general foodie sentiment, of which I have none (if anyone knows where I can find some, I would love to know!), but luckily I found this among a Hero Arts stamp called “Color Layering Hydrangeas” and I think it goes perfectly with the image don’t you think?
I mounted the tabbies onto foam adhesive on a panel I had cut using Stamplorations “Crazy Double Running Stitched” die and that panel onto my plaid and the plaid onto a white card base and my card was done!
Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts on my card. I look forward to seeing your plaid creations on the link up over at The Sisterhood of Crafters, where you can also find more inspirations from my “sistahs”. Have a great crafting day!
