Goodbye Melissa

Today’s post is not an easy one. It is to pay tribute & say goodbye to a fellow crafter, a loving wife and devoted mother, Melissa Lane, who suddenly left us recently. If you knew Melissa of Honeybee Lane, either personally or just through her amazing cards & kind words left on your blog, please feel free to join us in this tribute by making a card for her and linking it up over at Stamplorations.  You may also send her family cards, through Shery, owner of Stamplorations and friend of Melissa’s.

Melissa loved butterflies and the colour red, and she was also a very talented mixed media artist, so I made a card that incorporated all those elements. The butterflies are made from acrylic skins and I water-coloured the wreath. The hand written sentiment comes from her blog and is part of PSALM 139: 7-10.

WHERE CAN I GO FROM YOUR SPIRIT? WHERE CAN I FLEE FROM YOUR PRESENCE? IF I GO UP TO THE HEAVENS, YOU ARE THERE; IF I MAKE MY BED IN THE DEPTHS, YOU ARE THERE. IF I RISE ON THE WINGS OF THE DAWN, IF I SETTLE ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE SEA, EVEN THERE YOUR HAND WILL GUIDE ME, YOUR RIGHT HAND WILL HOLD ME FAST. PSALM 139: 7-10

We are so sad that you’ve left us Melissa, but comforted to know that you are in the presence of the Lord whom you love so dearly.

To her husband Chris and her 4 children. We are so very sorry for your loss.

  1. Your card is so beautiful Gwendolyn and so full of colour. What a beautiful verse and so perfect – and sad but we are celebrating Melissa with butterflies from around the world and they are bountiful.
