This is going to be a quick post for a quick card I made. Took me all of 15 minutes I think, and when my teenage daughter saw it, she said, “Mum that is the nicest card you’ve ever made…” and when I think of the hours I slaved over some of my other cards, especially the watercolour or interactive ones, her favourite is one that took me 15 minutes and required no real talent to do it!!

All I did was stamp the beautiful stamp from Casual Fridays with Versamark clear ink on a red card base, heat embossed it with Wow’s Opaque bright white embossing powder and then blended in Aged Mahogany distress ink on the edges to bring out the centre image even more, sprinkled some white acrylic paint and that was it! Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great creative week!

  1. Gorgeous CAS design Gwendolyn. How fantastic that it only took you 15 minutes. It’s always amazing when things just click and come together fast to create a gorgeous design. Great work. Love the red and white … very festive. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!

  2. Your daughter has good taste, Gwendolyn! This is so classy! The rich red background was made even richer by the sponging around the edges! It makes that gorgeous white sentiment bold and beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Christmas!

  3. I think we often find those cards that took no time at all end up being favourites. They just fall into place. And I think the idea of adding darker colour to a coloured card base works just perfectly. I love it and hope to do some like it too. the red truly is amazing looking.
