Hi all, I’m back for my last post of the day as Guest Designer for Stamploration’s Wonderful Wednesday Colouring post and I have three cards to share with you using their stencils and dies. Don’t forget to leave a comment here and on the Stamplorations blog along with that of my fellow guest designers Renee and Vinita to get a chance to win a $15 voucher to the Stamplorations store.
Today I’m going to show you the many designs you can create with their stencils and I’ll start with the simplest one. The card above was created using the “Snowflakes All Over” stencil which I stamped Versamark clear ink on, placed it carefully on my card and ran it through my Big Shot. This was done to make sure all the ink transferred onto my card so that I could heat emboss it with WoW’s “Neutral Ultra Shimmer” embossing glitter. I then sponged Twisted Citron and Spun Sugar Distress inks over it. The “Merry Christmas Phrase” sentiment from Stamplorations Cutplorations series was cut from a panel which I previously inked up with Cranberry and Wild Plum alcohol inks.
My second project is a mixed media tag. I don’t normally do tags, or mixed media in the conventional sense (meaning with a vintagy vibe) but I love using pastes and paints. Anyway this tag was created by first painting through the “Bubble Dance” stencil with my Prima Marketing metallic watercolours. Once it dried, I cut the tag using Stamploration’s ATC tag builder dies from this panel. I then added part of the “Stitched Winter Landscape” Cutplorations die & the Peace On Earth sentiment diecut which were both water-coloured beforehand.
My third card uses the leftover from the tag project and another stencil from Stamplorations, called Stained Glass. I wanted to use this stencil to create a centre stamp like image so I blended on a light teal coloured card base, using Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink, leaving the centre as light as possible. I removed the stencil and blended out the parts I didn’t want so that I would be left with a star. To make this star shine out more, I went over it with my Spectrum Noir sparkle pen. The sentiment from Cutplorations was cut from the left over metallic watercolour panel I used for my tag and I really love the soft pastel look. Some flicker of pearl metallic paints finished my card.
Well, I hope you were inspired by my cards and I really love reading all the comments you take the time to share with me. Have a great creative day!
