Addicted to Stamps – CAS Gull

addicted to stamps

Hi all! Its time for another “Clean and Simple” card challenge over on the “Addicted to Stamps and More” blog so we would love to see your CAS cards in the link up. Just a reminder, the definition of  Clean and Simple is – clean and crisp lines, minimal or no embellishments and lots of ‘white’ space should be used.
(* White space does not need to be ‘white’. It can be any colour. White space is a term used for the area of your card with no stamping, embellishments etc.)

I personally have a problem with making clean and simple cards. Even though my cards are mostly one layer and rarely have any embellishments on them, every time I make a card with just one image on it, I feel I have to add something else. For example, I think my gull from Create a Smile “Gull Gang” set would have been fine without the clouds behind him in the end.

I water-coloured this card with my Daniel Smith watercolours on Clairefontaine Paint On  250gsm multi media paper. They come in an A5 block so all I have to do is remove one, fold it in half to get a card base ready to be water-coloured. This card was made for my hubby’s colleague who broke his two arms! I thought the gull with his wings folded looked armless…I hope he finds it funny…

Well I look forward to seeing your clean and simple cards in the link up here. Do pop over to the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge blog to see what my my team mates have made to inspire you and leave them some love too!

Have a great creative day and Thanks for all your kind comments!

Hugs, 0aablog-signature

P.S By the way the title “CAS – Gull” when pronounced in French “casse geule” means breakable, risky…get the pun?🤣

  1. Oh my goodness, I love your card. Horrible that he broke both arms, but this is perfect for the occasion. I’m the same exact way, I have troubles with CAS cards. I always want to add something else to it. I feel like I need to just sit on my hands sometimes. Thanks for joining us for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I hope you’ll join us again soon ~

  2. It’s one awesome card! Made my day, love the design, and colors, and cute image. Love the clouds behind too. Rules are good, but for pure enjoyment you can add any details you want 🙂

  3. Love the sentiment. Your clouds make the card and still leave it CAS. Thanks for joining us at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  5. I love this! The sentiment made me laugh out loud! Really good CAS card. Hope your hubby’s colleague likes it – how the hell do you break both arms?!!?! I’m guessing someone else will have to open the card for him… TFS! x

  7. What an appropriate card for your hubby’s unfortunate colleague! That cute gull and fun sentiment is sure to bring a smile to the patient, and I think you have rocked this CAS design, Gwendolyn.
