The Ton Blooming Peony Garden – Watercolour pencils

addicted to stamps n more anything goes

Hi all! Its Wednesday so another challenge starts at Addicted to Stamps and More and this week, the theme is “Anything Goes”, which is usually a favourite with all of you, so I look forward to seeing many of your creations in the challenge gallery!

For this challenge, I decided to use my Spectrum Noir Aquablend watercolour pencils for the first time, and after colouring this gorgeous background stamp from The Ton called Blooming Peony Garden Cling stamp, I wondered why I had never used them before! They’re so easy to use and they blend wonderfully with water to create soft hues. The best part is that you can also leave soft strokes to accentuate the texture of the petal or leaf.

The butterfly was heat embossed with Wow embossing powder and I found it in my stash and I think its from Sizzix cause I don’t have other butterfly dies. I thought it matched perfectly with the background colour I painted, don’t you think?

Here are a few pics to show you the colouring process. After a while, I used my Misti to hold down the paper while I was colouring, to keep the paper from warping.

Well, thanks for dropping by and I hope you’ll go over to the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge blog to visit my fellow design team members who have created some amazing cards to inspire you to join in our challenge.

Have a great day!
