Hero Arts 45th Anniversary + Giveaway!

bloghop_day2_600I’m so honoured to be a part of Hero Art’s 45th Anniversary blog hop! This is a 3-day blog hop which started yesterday and you can find the first day here. They are also celebrating the release of their 2019 Summer catalogue with special edition stamps which were brought back “from the vault, and their reactive inks!!! To help them celebrate, they have gathered some fabulous prizes from their industry friends and partners for this hop and I am giving away something too! All info at the end of my post.HA anniv prodFor this special blog hop post, I brought out the oldest Hero Arts stamp I have, (which is now retired) and which is also one of the first stamps I bought when I started card-making 3 years ago, so it’s not so old, but still dates from 2012! I coloured it directly with their new water reactive ink by first stamping the inks onto an acrylic block. I picked up the ink with my brush and painted the stamps directly with it, this way, I could just paint whichever part of the stamp I wanted and I chose to leave out the background text on the stamp. I then sprayed a very fine spritz of water on the stamp before I stamped it on my watercolour card base. HA anniv cuI coloured in the stamps, then added the leaves from my Hero Arts “Stamp your own plant” set, on both ends, using the same method, and another flower from the first stamp. The sentiment comes from their December 2018 My Monthly Hero kit, which I am giving away as I got 2 by mistake! Just make sure you follow me here on my blog, on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube and let me know you’ve done so in the comments below.

  3. Hello Gwendolyn! That is such a pretty card! I love the way you did the bird by putting the reactive ink on just parts of the stamp. Clever! Thanks for joining us over at a2z!
