Hi all, Its already the first of March (in Australia) so another challenge starts over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog and this month’s optional theme, Flowers, will be a favourite of many. I know it’s my favourite! You have until the end of the month to join in and I really look forward to seeing your amazing creations!
This month I made a very simple card using only one colour. Unfortunately its a sympathy card for the worst type of tragedy, the death of a child. I wanted to convey all my sadness in my image, even though I know it is nothing compared to what the mother must be feeling.
I made a video showing how I coloured this stamp which you can find below, but in summary, I first added the Spectrum Noir black water-reactive ink to the stamp, spritzed the stamp with water and stamped it onto my watercolour pad which also comes from Spectrum Noir. Then with my wet paintbrush, I just moved the ink around. When I needed to darken certain areas, I did it with my watercolour marker, also from Spectrum Noir.
As promised the video of how I painted this flower stamp. Hope you enjoy it and that it’ll inspire you to join our watercolour challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day doing something you love.
Hugs,
Your card is stunning, Gwendolyn and certainly does convey your feelings. It is never easy to make sympathy cards, but you have excelled. I’m sure they appreciated its beauty and message! Thanks so much for the great video! I must try this technique, but I’m not sure it will be as easy as you made it look! I ihope you are safe and well. Take care! 🙂

You never disappoint with how talented you are with your water colouring. This card is brilliant in those ombre shades. Love it Gwendolyn.
